Date: 1725 - 1775 18th Century corded quilted child’s cap, worked in three panels. The cap may have had two ties which are now missing.

This 18th century quilt, found rolled up in an old log cabin, has amazing needlework in addition to the state of preservation with little care over the last 220 years. Noted in the picture is childlike embroidery believed to have been done by Sally, at the early age of ten when she was just learning to do needlework.
Late 18th Century Quilt signed Sarah Woodhouse’s Work Dec 23 1799. It could be speculated that this unique coverlet was worked as a wonderful Christmas present for a notable Christmas, being the last one of the 18th century.
