Hmm. Interesting, to me, because this recipe for ham-n-beans uses pinto beans. I've always used white beans - like great northern - but pintos are cheaper and lots more Southern. :)

Another good recipe on the cheap. I might be in the minority, but I LOVE good split pea soup. Use up that ham-bone and buy a bag of dry split peas. They're really very inexpensive, and much easier to cook than dry beans.

Make ahead and freeze cinnamon rolls! So you don't have to get up at 4AM in order to have a nice breakfast surprise. Perfect for when you're having houseguests, or whenever. Also keps you from eating the whole batch at once!

What a great idea! Cover each potato in aluminum foil and place in a crock-pot. Easy way to have baked potatoes ready when you get home from work! Cook on low for about eight hours. Load them up with your favorite toppings, serve with a big salad and dinner is served!
