I was looking for some quiet but I found medicine that was the salve to my soul.

My sister and I got in a fist fight over my grandmother's dishes. I won. But I invite her over for dinner every Sunday.

I felt rather comfortable in his space. So comfortable I moved right in without telling him.

What gives me hope in the world? Seeing men still sitting in the park with style and class. The world is good with men like this.

If I knew that tennis involved those little shorts and the opportunity to smash a ball into someones face, well then, I would have started this long ago.

Her names was Jubilee and she sure liked to party. We sat around in the summer sun and munched on apples and buttercups and when we got bored we rode along the creek. She was my sister. My ticket to adventure.

In the winter we visited the old cabin against the Sawtooths and we'd wrap in wool and go outside to smoke salmon and watch our breath float into the sky.

If they try and tell you it's alcohol, then tell them they lie. Guinness is grand for you.

In Italia the sandwich is pressed tightly, the cheese is sharp, the pesto is savory and the tomatoes are sweet. The man who makes it for you is smoking hot. Make sure you tell him your hotel room number and your favorite year of wine.

And so I sang Amazing Grace ten times over and Riders on the Storm thirteen times. I was on the road and my future looked red hot. Bright red hot.

I like men's shirts. I like them when they are off of them and on me.

There was a moment in my life when everything seemed perfect and nothing was behind us, nothing in front of us. It was was when we were in the tighness of nature, the wetness of river, the flow of the trees and the crisp morning sky. It was when we had let go of things to do and become nothing but Us.

It's rather divine. Put together. Sharp. Crisp. Classic. Nothing like me but everything I crave.

I picked out the shirt that he'd marry me in. He picked out the panties I would wear for him afterwards. Both organic.

He floored me when he knew what to do with rainbow chard. Then I melted when he showed me what he does with garlic.

He could play the blues and fry up some peppers. He's one of those friends who was dropped down from the Heavens, the kind that everyone wants but for some reason I received.

He said he couldn't buy me a boat, but he still could take me to the edge and light the path to the sea.

And we gathered. In love and trust. In community. In honor of food and good wine. We gathered because we are alive and in love and ready to be part of something bigger than ourselves.

He doesn't buy me gifts. He paints me rooms. He builds me shelves. He carves me wooden toys that massage me all over. He's a man. A sturdy ground for my water to wash upon.

They thought it odd I wanted to wander in the wet flats to create the union. But my thought was it was the most fertile part of the land, it's moisture a manifestation to growth. It's depth a proclamation for our love. Plus I think rainboots are divine.

She always had us over for salad. Salad and wine. The greens were sharp and always drizzled with something tangy and sweet, always a crunch and a touch of something soft and creamy. The wines were organic. Her chairs always comfortable. Her moon always full. This was life in the tight, fertile valley and she was my home.

Let's not bother with fancy. Let's get right down to the bean and the cream.

He left the City and moved here with his wife. They got chickens and made gardens and I stayed in the dirty city with a few of his socks and leftover smell.

I'll camp. But lift me up. Take me a bit higher. I adore the earth, but sleeping in the trees makes my dreams come all the more true.

Houses are overrated. Give me my canvas and my stakes. A fire and some pillows. Something warm to lay my body on. And time. If this gives me time to love and create, offers me space to be free, then I will say it again. Houses are just overrated.

I finally got a porch. And a best friend, sister, witch. We sit and watch the sun set and talk about what potions to make and what spells to cast under the Moon. Life turns out all aright. Just listen to that inner voice and cast away the doubt.

Her name is Lola. My morning starts with me greeting her and her crew out in the coop beyond the buttercup field. Her eggs are green with yolks the color of sunshine. She eats her greens all day long...do you?
