Michael Schultz I did this in a water table in our basement 2 winters ago, using rice. It was a hit...it was amazing...it was so much fun...it was the biggest mess I've ever had to clean up. I still find rice in cracks and corners. Of course, I'd do it again, but that's not the point. =)
Jennifer Watkins I think I'll try this one for my 6 year old. He will love it!
Sharon Sprague I want this for ME! ;)
Mamma Loup great idea :)
Carrie Fields AWESOME!
Clara would love this construction birthday cake! Might need to give up the bee theme as the lady loves cars, trucks, and tractors!

Cute.

Jamie Bulera I did this at my baby shower and it looks awesome! (We had the guests cover the letters in paper and then decorate with punches, stamps, buttons, etc.) And my nursery walls are the same color!
Tammy Garrison @airemy caudle alphabet soup in small letters...
Krystal Mercado super cute!!
Rainbow drink: make colored ice cubes (with KoolAid or juice), stack in tall glasses and pour in sprite (or water for kiddos).

Alexis Clark what an awesome idea and so entertaining
Kaye Stone this is such a cool idea!!
Awesome idea (scribbles framed by shape).

Meagan @ Green Motherhood We used to do this in my classroom! It's good for teaching them how to color by telling them to color all the white paper.
Lori Stephens-Sisson what a great use of all the scribble paper i have...
Béatrice Schlegel such a good idea indeed!
Kimberly Montgomery That IS a good idea.
Diane Kelly After I saw this pin, I did it with my 16-month old as a baby shower gift for her cousin-to-be. I had her use complimentary colors for the nursery. It was a hit!
Cute name embroidery idea.

Samantha Hunter http://frecklednest.ty... looks like it was a gust feature - the actual image is from an etsy shop who is currently on vacation. I didn't see a tutorial - but thought this might help quell some curiosity!
Sherry @ Young House Love Thanks for that info Samantha! If I wanted to do it I'd cover a canvas with fabric and just use name stickers to spell out the name and sew little dashes around it. Then remove the stickers and voila!
Sarah Dorendorf You could also find an alphabet stencil and pencil it on the fabric...your stitches would cover the pencil...I will definitely be trying this!!
Brittany Kinney here you go! i found this on google today...hope it helps! http://linesacrossmyface.bl... -Brittany
Sherry @ Young House Love So sweet!
Clara loves her cars- so this is a great idea (use an IKEA magnetic knife rack to hold your cars).
16 likes 8 comments 1404 repins
Oliveaux tried it, doesn't work, not even with my husbands cars from the 70's and 80's
Stacy Randall glue cars to knife rack. cute idea for boys room
Sharon Earl @why didn't you think of this?
Sharon Earl @Erin Kidd I meant that comment to you.
Michela Simple. Stick and adhesive magnet to the back (underside) of the cars that your child wants to display. My guy loves to find ways to see and show his stuff. Sticker magnets (dollar store) are a staple in our home at the moment.
Fun future birthday party idea

Sherry @ Young House Love Thanks Katie! Love it!
Susan Meyers Great idea!
Tracy Nightingale I actually did this! We had a party with 40 kids and made a giant game (like laying 4 games 2x2). It was awesome!
Emily Hernandez awesome
Vee Gallo I wish I wasn't allergic to grass :( lol
Cute idea! (crepe paper the door for birthdays so they have to bust out when they wake up)

Meagan Penland We used to do the balloons and the streamers...now we have one who gets up like 3 times in the night to go potty. Lol Trying to figure out what to do now.
Allie Townsend Hm. Well. We used to do that late at night in college, but we used clear packing tape instead of crepe paper. So it used to be a little mean and hilarious, but now it can be sweet and adorable! Cute!
Lisa George Such a cute idea! I so need to do this with kiddo! Christmas day would be fun too!
Kristi Jacoway We did this for Christmas morning. That way our parents would know if we peeked at presents before they were up! Usually it was just masking tape though! ha!
Kelly Spokas We started this when my son was two. His 4th bday is tomorrow and I just found the crepe paper in the basement ready to decorate tonight!
Another tent for Clara.

Sabrina Singer-Towns This dollhouse is cuter than my real house! Love everything in it!

Laura Kipp DIY something similar http://www.chroniclebo...
Sherry @ Young House Love Cute! Thanks for the link!
Ashley I have that one, but got it as a gift. $70 is insane!
Cute closet-turned-nook. Maybe in the playroom for board games and books and toys?
22 likes 6 comments 2010 repins
Mandi White We had a closet like this in my parent's house growing up- LOVED IT!!!
Lindsey Middleton That would be even more awesome if all the books weren't neatly put away above the kids - who are zoned out watching that tiny wall-mounted TV. Oh, well! :o)
Jststmpit {sigh} If 1 had enough closet space in their house to begin with.
Mary Baker I would worry about the shelf falling, or kid falling while reaching for a book. But my kids are monkeys.
Hannah R.E.D. you could put tension rods at the front of each shelf to keep from things falling and to keep everything contained.
Ooh, maybe Clara needs a workshop along with a play kitchen. Haha.

Cordia P Oh my! My boys would love this. Hmmm!

Sherry @ Young House Love Woah- good tip!
S G eeeek
Mleeka Learn-Houston My dad made us some from a cedar tree he had to cut down, and we love them. I wonder if cedar gets woodworm...
Megan Bach From what I can tell, I think woodworms are found more in Europe. I hope so because we want to make this for our kids: http://childhood101.co... Those blocks look very similar too!
Mleeka Learn-Houston Good to know. We love our blocks, but we also love our new floors...
Play kitchen inspiration (since we have two kitchen cabinets leftover from our office project...).

Elisabeth Parker I'd choose whatever is nearest the kitchen (living room?) so she can feel like she's cooking with mommy and daddy :)
Jill Neal I think the play room would be ideal for these things so they're not crowding her room but also not out hanging around in the sunroom or living room.
Tina O. maybe you could put them on casters to move them around.
Sherry @ Young House Love Ooh cute idea!
Tamara Casorso Love!
Lurve this. So sentimental.

Sarah Klingelhutz This is such a good idea!!
Kerrie Godding Any set of cubes would do. And then, when dollhouses are no longer of interest - you have bookshelves, or CD shelves or...whatever.
Joy Elpedes My daughters did this exact thing with their cube bookshelf! I thought it was so clever for six year olds to do on their own.
Jill Neal I love that it's on wheels! All it needs is a roof (or maybe even a rooftop "pool" sans water of course b/c of the mess). :) Adorable!
Another gorgeous dollhouse.

Sherry @ Young House Love Already pinned that one! LOve it!
Donita Long McCarty Adorable. I have always wanted a doll house, just to sit in my living room, in a corner. So cute.

Kim Trainor We just did this on the 13th for my 4 yr. darling girl and she was so excited!

Tomissa Porath This looks like an Ikea hack -- a desk table that is cut down to coffee table height.
Fun (8 activities for toddlers that won't cost you anything).

AJ L just did this with all the kids on the fourth. Good, cold, cheap fun!
Lena Haha, Chinese old men practize caligraphy like that all the time in public parks. But they use big, special brushes. It is really an art.

Michelle Ritchie must make this for my toddler class!
Fun Mama I probably know the IKEA stock better than you, which is saying something. I'm a wee bit obsessed. Although, my husband thinks I make up excuses to go just to get meatballs.
Anna J They are on clearance at Ikea for $6.99
Michela Love this but where and how do you store the suckers when they're not in use?
Wendy Pray haha that's a good point, Michela! Now I'm wondering the same. If you use batting, they'd probably be easier to store I bet. I wonder if that's why they did in the pic actually.
So much fun.

Kara Sanders My sister's kids have one in their play room for reading. :)

Lisa George as long as she didnt put it in her mouth because then it could possibly become a choking hazard , possibly breaking up when wet or even a risk of materials detaching themself x
Sherry @ Young House Love True! Maybe it's a 2-3 year old project to take on a bit later. Or I could hole punch the fabric itself and just slide those onto a ring (no paper tabs). Hmm...
Ooh, homemade travel chair.

Elin Glenn I made this for my daughter. Love it! So convenient and compact.

Ashley Tankersley Sherry, I just made this for my niece using family photos. It was super easy and turned out great! I saw the idea on a blog that I don't usually read and can't remember what it was now... Anyway, I only used 9 cubes print a photo on regular printer paper and cut into 9 pieces and mod podged onto the cubes.

Johanna L My mom made these for all us kids growing up! We had a whole herd, and we loved them for years and years.
Jessica Johannsson We made those and fake moustaches for my daughter's 4th birthday.. Because according to her, cowgirls sometimes wear moustaches to scare the bad guys. They took my mom and I all weekend to make, but sooo worth it!
