Flydoos Love that!!!! I've got beige, beige trim and the door painted the same. We just bought this house and I'm going crazy from all of the beige inside and out! To sell his house, he took the neutral thing a bit to the extreme. :)
April Williams I love it too. Love grey and white
Laurie Callaghan Love gray and white houses, especially big old houses. Unfortunately, we sold our big old house and now live in a small bungalow. But I might try it anyway!

I love this idea of a shade tree-based deck.
by poppytalk
28 likes 2 comments 1466 repins
Sarah Ripley My deck is built around a big locust tree. Pretty, but the leaves are tiny and make a huge mess. I'd probably love it more if it was a maple or oak tree. The shade is great, though.
Angela Gridley ugh...just perfect
Whitewashing info.

Erin Andrews @ Out on a Limb... We tried this formula a few years ago, but must have used the wrong lime (not hydrated). It washed off in the rain, lol. Might try again this fall with and try to get it right.
MaryAnne Chesser This looks so cozy..
Terry Bullough Growing up on a farm we always whitewashed our barns and cellars inside and out. We used lime, salt and water. This was done everiy spring.
I want to join this and get ten baby trees and plant them in the way back.
22 likes 6 comments 268 repins
Kimberly Knight Hopefully you have better luck than I did! I joined and all of my trees died within a few months.
Jessica Smith Wheeler Mine too Kimberly! (we did it about six years ago).
Krysta I tried this last year (around June)....I got my trees in the middle of December!!Which is definitely outside the optimum planting time they advertised. 10 dead trees later and they won't stop sending me junk mail.
Courtney Dolan I did this today, can't wait!
Abby Davis I've done this and My Little Twigs are Growing!!! Love it!
The cutest DIY sandbox ever.

Leslie Whittington We made one of these- and then we moved :( so easy & loved it while we had it!
Lori Robinson OMG, yes.. that looks just like the one my Daddy built me when I was little. :)
Outdoor Chalkboard: Get a 4 x 8 plywood sheet and mix a chalkboard-colored outdoor paint with unsanded tile grout: 1. Pour 1 cup of paint into a container. Add 2 tablespoons of unsanded tile grout. Mix with a paint stirrer, carefully breaking up clumps. 2. Apply paint with a roller or a sponge paintbrush to a primed or painted surface. Work in small sections, going over the same spot several times to ensure full, even coverage. Let dry. 3. Smooth area with 150-grit sandpaper, and wipe off dust. 4. To condition: Rub the side of a piece of chalk over entire surface. Wipe away residue with a barely damp sponge.

Lori Hale Williams love the pergola! We've been tossing around the idea of doing that on the front of our house...
Missie Swanson Great stone work too!
Another sunken trampoline tutorial.
25 likes 8 comments 1233 repins
Ilana Smith One of my house insurance questions was "Do you have a trampoline?" I wonder if their actuaries would appreciate the scribbled note "In-ground!"
Lindsey Troup GENIUS! No more worries of falling off the trampoline!
Dana Buhl a friend severed her spinal cord landing wrong ON the trampoline! still dangerous even if you put in "in ground" or wrap a net around it! insurance will still refuse to insure.
Savannah Thats awful that it happened to your friend, but what if she was jumping on a bed or a couch? That's dangerous too right? I wonder where they stand on injuries acquired like that? (I'm not trying to stir the pot, I'm actually curious if anybody knows or has any experiences.)
Shari Wright-Herrmann My son broke his arm on one and the insurance company paid 100% of the bill.
Martha's outdoor clothesline tutorial.

Rosie Bancroft approximately 30 seconds ago i searched your blog for "clothesline." i should have known--look to your pinterest! thanks.

Marcia What sweet memories this brings to mind :)
Kristen Peters wish i knew what a sailors cleat and a snapshackle were.
In-ground livestock tank pool idea.

Rae Ann Oh my goodness! I just posted about a stock tank pool on my blog today! Not nearly on such a grand scale, but still very cool.
Amanda Juetten When I was a kid we had a watering trough about 2 1/2 feet tal and 4 feet long, we first used it for goldfish and later my dad painted the inside and we used it to swim in. Great memories.:)
Sharon Johnson Grutsch that dog totally wants to jump in! :)
Bunny Dh's father did this when they were kids.
Amy Taormina we did this too 20 years ago. the water was gross unless the windmill was pumping but if you didn't know how to swim this was where you sat. and n'mind the cattle, haha
In ground trampoline tutorial. Wahoooo.

Dyan Buck Jack Toler pool San Antonio TX had in the ground trampolines. Anybody else remember that?
Tricia McClelland What happens if you live where it rains a lot??
Jennifer Halloran / EBD @Tricia McC -- We added our tramp at the same time we built our in-ground pool so we just had the contractors spray the walls with shotcrete to stabilize them, then we added 2-3 feet of crushed gravel to the bottom for drainage.
Jennifer Bankowski Cristofoletti @jenhalloran- do you have a picture of yours posted somewhere on your boards? I would love to see it! Thanks!
Andrea Nivens Winder Looks like a giant snake pit. How do you keep critters out?
Someday we need to build this for the bean.

Beth Block The only problem is my son would be slidding into the neighborhood cat box!
Hmm, never thought about stone raised beds for veggies and herbs instead of wood ones...
19 likes 18 comments 365 repins
Jennifer Murphy I've built two wood ones already but if I had to do it again, I would use cinder blocks and either plant flowers or herbs in the block openings. Like this (but in raised bed shape): http://www.apartmentth...
Christine Hamon This one looks like it's actually made out of bits of concrete patio/sidewalk. Super cheap and still looks good.
Megan Sloan My dad created custom forms and had poured concerte put in them for his raised beds. He has 14 of them now, I think. At lease 12. We carved the initials of everyone who has helped over the years. They definitely aren't going anywhere and are great to sit on while picking veggies and fruits. There are so many options out there now!
Kat Gordon This looks great! I inherited cinder block beds from the house's previous owners, but here's the drawback... you MUST weed volunteer shrubs early! They let a bunch go and the root systems are so spread out underneath the cinder blocks that I cannot remove them- gonna have to call a professional with a truck. :(
Sherry @ Young House Love Great tip!
$10 raised beds. Yes please!
24 likes 9 comments 617 repins
Sherry @ Young House Love Good to know!
Kimberly Yau-Maltese i bet you could use that recycled plastic faux-wood that's often used for decks. ... of course, then we're most likely out of the $10 range.
Sherry @ Young House Love Oh yeah that's another idea too. I just pinned a stone raised bed so that's another option I'm thinking about.
Aimee Oakes We have had beds just like these for years and no problems with termites for us. We used untreated wood from Lowes at about $45 per bed.
Shelly Tindall i did something similar to this with Cedar fencing and have had it for three years with no bugs and very little rot.
We'd love peaks kinda like this for our flat little ranch someday...

Tiffany Nevil I love this color scheme! We need to change our house colors in the next few years and this is the look I love.
Michele Noma So would we, @Sherry @ Young House Love!
I've always loved this look. Always, always, always. Original source: BHG/Meredith Inc.

Sarah Baker These remind me of some lighting we did at an event I went to. We took old re-bar forms for making columns and wrapped them in white muslin and filled them with white christmas lights. they were so pretty!
Iconic Father of the Bride house (love that white picket fence).

Stephanie Crouse Love that movie & the house!
I love this wine box garden idea. Like a lot.
25 likes 4 comments 977 repins
Paula Dibbits where would you get wine boxes? Would they be fairly expensive?
Sherry @ Young House Love I wonder if you could ask around at wine stores (they might just give them to you free or save them up for you for a small amount of loot). Hope it helps!
Dale Apple Tried it. They warp and split immediately. Looked cool for a few weeks though. The tall ones were great for carrots, when the ground is too hard for growing.
Susan Diaz Our hardware store has boxes those size with tougher wood. Might be a better material to start with.
In a fantasy world I'd have a line of outdoor chandeliers like this over a long wood table in my backyard.
