You always hear that the best conversations at an office take place around the water cooler. Consider this board to be a parent's virtual water cooler. Let’s use this board as a place for parents to pin (and more importantly talk about) trending topics. "Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after." {Anne Morrow Lindbergh} Consider this our virtual kitchen table. Help For Moms of a Special Needs Child- what a blessing! I have found a few things that help me not to become depressed each day with seeing Rory’s little leg and thinking about our future. Do you have a child with a disability? What helps you ?

Cari Carr I didn't notice either. She is a beauty...don't worry! My son is autistic. I find that being in the persent helps. So many times we overwhelm ourselves worrying about things that haven't even happened yet- and may never happen- inshAllah. Enjoy her triumphs and hold her through her hard times.

@KEEN Brings Back Recess for Kids and Adults. Is recess/break time important to you and your kids? How much recess do you get at work/school?

17 likes 2 comments 16 repins

Profile picture of Alicia Emery

Alicia Emery At the school I teach my preschoolers get 30 minutes a day, but the rest of the school only gets 10-15 minutes before lunch if they are lucky- It's just not enough!!

Profile picture of Megan Rosker

Megan Rosker Alicia- I absolutely agree with you. Sadly there isn't even evidence that working kids harder makes a better student. In fact it's quite the opposite. Can you imagine going to work without a lunch break?! In many companies taking an hour is mandatory now because they know it helps people be more productive. Why wouldn't we treat our kids with the same respect?

A great article: Life After the NICU. Have any of you had a NICU baby? Two out of my three kiddos spent time in the NICU.

43 likes 26 comments 59 repins

Profile picture of Kati Meyers

Kati Meyers It is truly amazing what those NICU nurses and doctors can do!! Both my kids were NICU babies. Tristen was born at 34 weeks due to PPRM weighing in at 3lbs 14 oz and stay 18 days he is now almost 4 and you would never believe he was a preemie. Lainie, my youngest, was born 7 weeks early due to IUGR weighing in at 2lbs 5oz. She stayed in the NICU for 37 days. Both my kids were strong and healthy needing no oxygen. It's really a blessing that everything has worked out for my family and it's all because of the NICU staff!! #TheLittleMiraclesInLife

Profile picture of Jodi Dolo

Jodi Dolo My angel is almost 18 months old and he's doing amazing. But my heart goes out to parents who are going through having a child in NICU and the adjustment when they come home (especially if medical treatments are required).

Profile picture of Rachel Tucker

Rachel Tucker My daughter was born at 24 weeks weighing only 1lb 11oz she spent 3 months in the hospital. She was able to leave the hospital on an oxygen tank which scared me to death, it has been a really rough road for us many trips back to the hospital , but as of today she is in her last year of high school and doing very well. I wish nothing but the best for any family that has to go through something like this. These little babies are truly gods little angels. And god bless to all those that work in the NICU.

Profile picture of Zebbie Starnes

Zebbie Starnes My NICU baby was born at 36 weeks...he had stopped growing at 34 weeks and my fluid was extremely low. He was in the NICU for a week...hardest week of my life. Unfortunately our experience with one of the NICU nurses was not pleasant and had her fired from our son's care...once we did that his health improved 100%. We are very thankful for the rest of the nurses that took care of him and will forever remember them!! He is now a healthy 5 month old!!

How in the world to register for your first baby! An experienced mom's tried and true list of what you REALLY need. (Wipes warmer not included!)

50 likes 17 comments 146 repins

Profile picture of Allyson {A Heart for Home}

Allyson {A Heart for Home} Wow! That's a huge list. I've had four babies in the past 5 years and I've never used 44 items from the list...my kids are all fine and happy! In fact the only pricey items we have from the list are a baby carrier (we LOVE our Ergo) and a Bumbo seat.

Profile picture of Birgitte Miller

Birgitte Miller I really wish lists like this would stop popping up. There is no one list that fits all babies and all parents. Just buy THE BASICS and go from there. I agree with others above here. Raised 2 kids and never needed HALF the items on this list, but also noticed you missed 7 items I could not have lived without. Also don't get why anyone buys items for babies they will not need until months down the road like highchairs, exersaucers and jolly jumpers. Leave those items until you know what your life is like then when you will need it. I never had a wipe warmer, but everyone I know that had one, loved it.

Profile picture of Sarah Tucker

Sarah Tucker I knew this would be a hot button topic! :) We'll all have our own opinions about things of course, but that's what was so amazingly confusing for me when I was a first-time mom... there were just so many conflicting opinions out there and I needed someone to shoot straight with me. Obviously you'll want to change this list to fit the needs of your family, but I hope it serves as a good starting point. All you really NEED is love and God's grace, but these are the products I've used and loved... maybe for the next baby we'll get an Ergo though ;)

Penny Denny-Triezenberg I know to some it might sound over the top and said too much, but we have always finished our phone conversations with "love you". We moved this past week. It was really tough with two kids under three. Here is a post on surviving a move with spontaneous play & learning. What are your tips on surviving a move? What have you found has worked well in this situation?

28 likes 2 comments 68 repins

Anne Cooper Just did a month long move from California to Georgia with a 12 month old. I found that his attitude greatly depended on my attitude. By being flexible, we were both more comfy with the BIG changes.

Profile picture of Brittany Blake

Brittany Blake We have moved every year my lo has been alive. Five years of moving and finally bought a house! Yay for no renting! But like the other mom said attitude is the biggest thing to remember to leave unpacked. I always leave a box or bag for her. it includes; colors and paper, playdough, snacks, books, and a few dollar store toys like spinning tops or Chinese finger traps. I always get her room done first. I think it helps her and myself have a sense of familiarity. .
